The Gear Junkie is US based 'adventure journalist' Stephen Regenold, and he's tested a few Terra Nova items over the last year - enough to tell him that he needed a couple of Laser Competitions to shelter Team Gear Junkie during the 344 mile Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race 2010.
The race is billed as "the toughest and wildest on Earth", and involves running, kayaking and mountain biking. Although the Laser Competitions were operating well outside their comfort range, with temperatures reaching a low of -2oC and winds a high of 120kph, they acheived their primary goal of sheltering the team from rain and snow and allowing them to get some rest.
