"Glossop Mountain Rescue Team has used these shelters for several years with great
success. We have used them in all weather conditions and they have proved to be
a valuable piece of equipment for the team.
A notable use was on a New Year's Eve call out for four missing hikers. There were
blizzard conditions with about two feet of snow. It was well below freezing with
visibility down to about 20 yards.
The hikers were successfully located and rescued on New Year's day. All were sheltered
within the bothies while they were assessed for injuries and hypothermia.
The bothies performed exceptionally well in these tough conditions and continue
to be used today."
