Gore-Tex®
Pores 20,000 smaller than a drop of water

In 1978 Gore released the 100% waterproof membrane. The biocomponent GORE-TEX® membrane consists of is a composite of two unique materials unsurpassed in mechanical and chemical stability.
One of the two components is pure expanded PTFE which is a hydrophobic or water hating material. Integrated in the ePTFE structure is an oleophobic, or oil-hating substance which allows moisture vapour to pass through, but is a physical barrier that prevents the penetration of contaminating substances such as oils, cosmetics etc which could affect the waterproof performance.
Pores 700 times larger than a water vapour molecule

The GORE-TEX® membrane was, from the very beginning, developed in order to be breathable. Due to the construction when you expand PTFE the membrane pores are 700 times larger than water vapour molecules and allow moisture to pass through.
Gore-Tex® XCR®
XCR® fabric stands for eXtended Comfort Range and this fabric is engineered to meet the demands of users who want to maximize both the intensity of the activity with a feeling of being comfortable - despite weather and time.
Breathability is the key factor with an average of 25% more breathability than GORE-TEX® fabric. The construction is similar to GORE-TEX® XCR® laminates are made from textiles which ensure high resistance to tear and abrasion.
Gore® WINDSTOPPER®
The WINDSTOPPER® membrane is an ultra light ePTFE membrane.

The complex structure of the expanded membrane prevents wind from passing through, providing total windproofness without negatively affecting breathability and comfort. The results are truly comfortable WINDSTOPPER® garments for outdoors and indoors.
Polartec® Power Stretch®

Moisture and high relative humidity next to the skin cause discomfort. Polartec® Power Stretch® keeps the skin dry through three complementary mechanisms:
1) The fabric is highly breathable and does not restrict the movement of moisture vapour.
2) "Touch Points" on the fabric inner surface draw off the sweat. Sweat is wicked off the skin to the outside of the fabric, where it spreads rapidly for evaporation.
3) When the sweat reaches the outside of the fabric, it spreads out to many times its original surface area, enabling it to dry at least 2 times faster than cotton.
The durable nylon outer layer is wind- and abrasion-resistant with a body-hugging 4-way stretch.
Polartec® Power Dry®

Moisture and high relative humidity next to the skin cause discomfort. Polartec® Power Dry® keeps the skin dry through three complementary mechanisms:
1. The fabric is highly breathable and does not restrict the movement of moisture vapour.
2) “Touch points” on the fabric inner surface draw off the sweat. Sweat is wicked off the skin to the outside of the fabric where it spreads rapidly for evaporation. Polartec® Power Dry® fabrics move at least 30% more moisture away from the skin than single component fabrics.
3) When the sweat reaches the outside of the fabric, it spreads out to many times its original surface area, enabling it to dry at least 2 times faster than cotton.
The patented bi-component knit construction uses different yarns on either side of the fabric. This creates two different surfaces: one that is optimized to move moisture away from the skin, the other to dry quickly.
Polartec® Wind Pro®

Proprietary yarns and a very tight construction greatly reduce the effects of wind chill, the Achilles heel of traditional fleece. Polartec® Wind Pro® blocks the wind 4x more than traditional fleece.
The durable water repellent outer surface sheds rain and snow. With the inner surface efficiently trapping air and provides a high warmth-to-weight ratio. Both surfaces of these fabrics are finished for maximum durability and pill-free performance. They retain their insulating ability and original appearance after repeated use and laundering.
Because it is not a laminate, Polartec® Wind Pro® is also highly breathable, maintaining 85% of the breathability of traditional fleece to keep you from over heating.
Polartec® Classic 200® and 300®

Polartec® Classic fabrics are the reference standard for lightweight warmth and breathability. This is the original fleece offering unparalleled quality and durability. Polartec® Classic fabrics have been the primary insulation layer of choice among experienced outdoor enthusiasts for nearly three decades.
Polartec® Classic 300 fabrics are the heaviest and provide a warm thermal layer for very cold outdoor activities. Polartec® Classic 200 weight fabrics provide outstanding warmth and versatility for general outdoor use.
Coolmax®

Coolmax® is the original performance fabric that's been helping top athletes push harder and longer but is now being discovered for the cool comfort it brings to everyday apparel.
Coolmax® has proven physiological benefits that, depending on your needs, can be applied to or found in a whole new range of clothing styles - from moderate and high-intensity performance apparel to everyday casual wear.
So consumers get the level of performance they need to stay cool and comfortable in any situation.
