Review

The Terra Nova Solar Elite tent is the worlds lightest self-supporting double-wall tent, and mixes low weight, stability and versaltility to become a great all-round choice for solo backpacking in a range of environments.

In it's first UK magazine review, Trail scored the Solar Elite tent 5 out of 5 - you can read the review by clicking on the article link above. Despite weighting less than 1 kilo (865g to be exact) the Solar Elite has a long, tapered porch, pitches inner first for use in hot climates, and has a Y-shaped DAC pole that provides easy pitching, improved stability and more headroom than traditional single-pole styles.

For prolonged trips where weight isn't quite as important, the Solar Competition has the same dimesions as the Solar Elite with a higher hydrostaic head and a split-pole finish at the foot end for even better stability. If a large porch is more important than overall stability and ease of use, the Laser Competition would also be well worth a look.
