ReviewThe Terra Nova Laserlarge 1 has been around for 5 years now, which makes it thoroughly middle aged as far as tents go. What's particularly unusual in this instance however is that the tent is virtually unchanged from the original design. Whilst some other models in the Laser range have gone on to grab world records and hog the headlines, the Laserlarge 1 has been a consistently solid performer, scoring highly in every review it has every received.
This habit was continued with a score of 4 out of 5 in the July 2009 Trail magazine 2-person tents review. The Laserlarge 1 was easily the most spacious and the lightest tent on test - not a bad combination for lightweight backpacking. There's no lack of ventilation options either, with high vents above the flysheet door and a tail vent that can be opened and closed whilst you remain sheltered in the inner. And the porch is plenty big enough to accomodate a pair of packs with room to organise cooking.
Even if you switch the 2g pegs for our bigger Titanium Skewer pegs, the total weight for all this flexibilty is still comfortably under 2kg! You can download the full review by clicking on the link above.
