For 2008 we took the decision that the affordable Wild Country range of tents needed the Terra Nova treatment, and tent weights came tumbling down as a result! The lightest tent in the new range is the one person Sololite, which has been steadily growing in profile amongst those looking to backpack on a budget. The Sololite has now been awarded a four star recommendation in TGO Magazine's July one-person tent round up. This is a fantastic acheivement for a tent that was roughly half the price of most of the competition!

The external pole structure allows for a quick pitch in any weather, and was put to the test in some horrible winter storms for the review. Happily it passed with flying colours, shedding the wet snow and 50mph gusts with ease.

"Pitching it is very easy - it took me less than 5 minutes the first time even though it was cold, wet and windy and I had gloves on".
