To wet your appetite, here’s a run through of the line-up for 2013.
Wild Country Tent Range 2013
The standard Zephyros was first introduced just a couple of years ago and became an overnight success with backpackers, wild campers and adventure racers. Based upon the award-winning design of the Terra Nova Laser Competition tent, the Zephyros offers users a great opportunity to get their hands on a quality backpacking tent at a very affordable price. The Zephyros already comes in 1 and 2 person models, but for 2013 we’re adding an extra size, the Zephyros 2 XL. This provides a little extra room for those who still want a lightweight tent, with small pack size and super quick pitching, but would prefer a little more space inside (perhaps for the dog!).
Zephyros Lite Tent
Also new for 2013 comes the Zephyros Lite tent. This is a really exciting tent! As you may have guessed from the name, the Zephyros Lite is lighter than the standard Zephyros, shaving over 300g off the packed weight! This is achieved by using high specification fabrics. The Zephyros Lite features 4000mm rip-stop nylon PU Silicon coated fabric, offering excellent protection and strength, without the weight! Not only is the Zephyros Lite lighter, it also packs down smaller than the standard Zephyros thanks to the two-section end poles (similar to those only found previously on the top end Terra Nova Laser tents). Other enhancements include the lightweight, high-strength 1.6mm guy-lines. The Zephyros Lite comes in 1 and 2 person models.
Brand new for 2013, the Coshee tent is set to become a hit amongst 2 – 3 person campers and backpackers on a tighter budget. The Coshee is a twin-pole, ‘wedge’ style tent, offering low weight and a small pack size, at a super price! The tent is a cinch to pitch and feels really stable once up. There are two doors at each side, making entry/exit much easier for occupants and providing extra comfort in summer when temperatures rise. Available in 2 and 3 person models.
Another new design for 2013, Wild Country introduce the Hoolie tent. A fantastic, twin-pole, tunnel tent offering front access and a relatively large porch for this style of tent. Ideal for those with large storage requirements. Available in 2, 3 and 4 person models, providing stability and protection from the elements whilst remaining lightweight and quick and simple to pitch. We’re sure this tent will be a hit amongst weekend campers, backpackers, Scouts, Duke of Edinburgh groups and more. We’re expecting great things from this tent, and so should you!
For the serious camper, who requires the added strength and stability of semi-geodesic design, the all new Trisar 2, Trisar 2 XL and Trisar 3 tents have been introduced to the range in 2013. These inner-pitch-first tents offer protection from the elements in all but the worst of conditions (Rated “3 – 4 Season Backpacking”). Despite their strength and generous size, these are still relatively lightweight tents, making them an excellent choice for year round backpacking. Packed with clever features, this tent is hard to beat for those who demand the best from their gear.
The Aspect tent has been in the Wild Country range for some time, but 2013 sees the introduction of two new models. The Aspect 2.5 for a spacious two person tent, and the Aspect 4 tent which sleeps up to four people across two bedrooms. The Aspect is popular amongst campers for its unique ‘wide aspect’ door, which offers users simple entry into the tent and fantastic wide-angle view of their surroundings once inside. The Aspect tents are based upon a twin pole design which makes them a breeze to pitch and are relatively lightweight. A great all round spacious, well proportioned tent for couples and small families / groups.
A modern tent, which provides weekend and touring campers with a real opportunity to camp in style – without the bulk and weight. The Etesian range has been revamped for 2013, with the totally redesigned Etesian 2 model, the all new Etesian 3 tent, plus the existing Etesian 4 and 6 tents which remain largely unchanged. These tents are designed to be spacious, have a small pack size, be free-standing and durable. The real bonus for the 4 and 6 person versions is that you can stand up in them, yet they easily fit in the boot of a car for quick get-aways. Their unique modern design makes them stand out from the crowd – a tent to be proud of!
Strong, robust, family camping tents from Wild Country. Unchanged for 2013, these family favourites offer the ultimate in protection, with steel Jumbo poles, reinforced Jumbo corners with kevlar-stitched webbing, condensation management, reinforced hypalon guyline points and much more. Available in 4, 5, 6 person models, plus the Citadel XL for those who demand even more space and luxury. Our all weather trial last winter proved just how robust they are!
Keep an eye out on the Terra Nova website for full details of the entire Wild Country 2013 range. We’re expecting stock to be ready for end of February / early March 2013. Ask you local outdoor / camping store for more information on the Wild Country Tent range.
