Choose a Family Camping Holiday This Summer

As we are still in lock down across the UK it’s a great time to start thinking ahead for the future and planning fun family getaways for the summer. Following the government’s latest announcement that some campsites will be able to open on the 4th July we are excited that if it is safe to do so we will be able to get back out into nature and enjoy camping soon! Why not take this time to plan your own family camping holiday in the UK?

We’ve designed and created a range of family air tents which complement our existing Wild Country and Terra Nova ranges. Using the expertise that we have gained over 35 years and the input from family camping stockists we have developed and tested the new range of family tents and a campervan awning.

We wanted to find some great places for you to use the new Zonda range so we sent out a survey across our social media platforms to find out our followers’ favourite UK camping destinations. Our survey concluded that 80% of the respondents were more likely to choose a UK family camping holiday this year due to the Corona Virus pandemic.

Some of the destinations mentioned by the respondents to our survey were:

Devon

Full of sandy beaches, fossil cliffs, medieval towns and moorland national parks it is an ideal place for a family camping holiday. Take some walks along its spectacular coastlines, beautiful beaches and the stop for some Devonshire cream tea (if safe to do so).

Cornwall

People visit Cornwall for the dramatic coastline, captivating fishing harbours and spectacular beaches. The pounding surf provides a natural playground for a variety of water sports, so head sailing and grab a Cornish pasty while on a fun family camping holiday.

The Lake District

The largest of the UK’s national parks. There is plenty to do with 16 lakes and more than 150 high peaks, with four over 3000 feet! Ideal for the family there are plenty of camping and caravanning spots with loads of accessible walking routes. Join guided walks from family-friendly gentle rambles, to scaling Scarfell Pike.

Wales

Wales is home to some incredible walks that would be great on a family camping holiday. Breath-taking views that take country walks to adventures that will perk up even reluctant ramblers.

Scotland

Voted ‘the most beautiful country in the world’ by readers of roughguides.com beating the likes of New Zealand and South Africa! Scotland is a really great place to visit. Home to ancient and mysterious standing stones, castles and lavish stately homes. There is fun for all the family with some phenomenal views.
