Keen hill walker Ian Davis recently had a half day hike in the mountains around La Clusaz, France and took the Laser 35 rucksack with him. It was the first time he had used the pack, this is what he thought.

The Terra Nova Laser 35 rucksack was perfect. Being lightweight was my main criteria as it had to be a minimum addition to the weight limit available for my luggage, it also took up very little room in my suitcase. My lightest equipment sufficient to cover any anticipated events on the day eg waterproofs, spare fleece, hat, gloves, first aid etc fitted with ease into the Laser 35.

I thought having the central zip would be a disadvantage but it proved quite the opposite; it enabled quick access to items in the pack during a heavy snow shower. A water bottle in the side pocket was easy to remove and replace without having to stop and to take the pack off. The small pocket in the hip belt was just right to hold sunglasses.

This was a very useful rucksack, good quality and design and comfortable to carry with the equipment I used.
