Review: The perfect tent to fill a gap 09/08/17

I'd been looking for a weekend car-camping tent for a while. Criteria included: being able to stand up, to sit in the porch (on a chair) in poor weather, semi geodesic for stability, alloy poles and was on the verge of giving up when we saw this at a camping show. Absolutely ideal and the complete game changer is the ability to turn back part of the groundsheet so you can step inside wearing muddy boots in the rain, under cover so no more limbo/hopping. Superb!
Review: Etesian 4 Tent 26/07/16

I have now owned my Etesian 4 for just over 2 years now, and it has had multiple uses. Uses have been at music festivals, beer festivals and campsite.

I purchased this tent as I was looking for something I could pretty much stand up in, and at 5ft 11" this is pretty much bang on - only very slight need to bend after porch area. This replaced a previous tent with firbreglass poles which snapped on second use.

It is a big tent overall, it could fit 4 easily with large porch area though we use it for 2. I have managed to pitch it myself on a number of occasions and due to the ease of the pole setup I can now do it in about 5-7 minutes each time.

The tents has been brilliant in heavy downpours (3 days solid in one case) and the sip out porch minimised any mud on the inside of the tent. I was worried about the height of the tent in strong winds though it has also held up well with the structure of the poles.

Only negative I would say is the pegs are quite short and bend quite easy - I was warned about this so always try to take care when pegging out, though I have bent a few.

Now considering a two man backpacking tent for solo trips, probably Zephyros 2......?
