Terra Nova Equipment has launched a completely revamped range of tents for 2003 – under the Wild Country brand. The collection has something to suit every lifestyle from novice and family users to serious campers and outdoor enthusiasts.
The collection includes the new Family & Group range which offers a diverse and versatile collection of tents designed to provide both spacious and flexible accommodation; the new Discovery range, designed as the ideal first ‘serious’ tent for outdoor enthusiasts at value for money prices and the Pursuit range, which includes existing popular models, created for year round use.
Family & Group
The Family & Group range offers many added benefits and features from ease of pitching; spacious accommodation; handy storage features and ease of packing and transporting to good ventilation; waterproof and flame retardant qualities and well designed inners, which will accommodate airbeds.
Boasting six tent options, the range includes Homestead 4, a compact yet spacious tent which sleeps up to four people and offers two separate sleeping compartments designed to accommodate a double airbed each. The Homestead 4 (like others in the range) addresses the frustrations many consumers experience in trying to squash a double airbed into a compartment for two. The Homestead 5 model sleeps up to five people in two separate sleeping compartments; one taking three airbeds and the other a double airbed.
Homestead 7+3 is an ingenious tent with three inner sleep areas to house seven people with the option of an additional inner to allow up to ten. Sleeping up to ten comfortably the Homestead 10 offers four inners with ample living accommodation.
Forum is a resourceful modular group tent designed for multi-person use where a large central living area is required. Each sleeping area is actually a two–person tent (the Stoer from the Discovery range) which ‘docks’ with the Forum. A must for group’s looking for maximum versatility for minimum outlay. Available in an extra large version also.
Discovery
Ideal for outdoor enthusiasts looking to buy a first ‘serious’ tent at an affordable price, the Discovery range offers four tent options. The Crura offers spacious accommodation for one person, including a good-sized porch area: ideal for lightweight backpacking and mountain marathons. Used with the flysheet only the weight can be reduced to a mere 1.35kg. The big brother to the Crura is the Hoy, which offers roomy, lightweight accommodation for two persons backpacking, without sacrificing a good-sized porch.
If you’re looking for a spacious backpacking tent with good storage space for two, opt for the Stoer which has been designed to ‘dock’ with the Forum tent from the Family & Group range or used individually, making it a really adaptable buy. Those seeking a two-person tent with space and storage would be suited to the new Burrian, which has two porches.
Pursuit
The Pursuit range has been designed for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a reliable tent for year round use. Featuring tents that are fully seam sealed, guaranteed waterproof and flame retardant, the collection introduces new models to complement the existing popular models from Wild Country’s 2002 line-up.
New for 2003 is the Bise, offering the ultimate in pitching versatility, either outer first or both inner and outer together. Ideal for outdoor enthusiasts wanting a spacious backpacking tent, the Bise offers large vents at the front and rear to ensure good ventilation and the pole design provides enhanced stability.
The Levache is also introduced to the Pursuit range and although similar in style to the Bise, offers a larger porch. It too can be pitched outer first or both together, is well ventilated and can accommodate a double airbed, making it ideal for those touring by car.
