Business Development Manager

  • Sales Team

As the Terra Nova Equipment Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the company's growth trajectory. Your primary responsibility is to identify and pursue new business opportunities while managing existing customer accounts. You will actively contribute to sales strategies, conduct market research, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure the seamless execution of sales initiatives.

Key Responsibilities 

New Customer Acquisition:
• Lead the charge in acquiring new customers through targeted prospecting, outreach, and relationship building.
• Collaborate with the Sales Manager to develop and execute new customer acquisition strategies aligned with the overall business objectives.

Customer Expansion:
• Develop and implement effective strategies for expanding relationships with existing clients to drive revenue growth.
• Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the current client base to maximize account value.

Sales Strategy Collaboration:
• Work closely with the Sales Manager to align business development initiatives with overall sales strategies.
• Provide input on market trends, customer preferences, and competitive intelligence to inform strategic decision-making.

Market Share Expansion:
• Play a key role in driving initiatives to increase Terra Nova’s market share in the outdoor equipment industry.
• Analyse market data and customer feedback to identify areas for growth and improvement.

Customer Relationship Management:
• Manage and nurture relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
• Address customer concerns, collaborate on solutions, and serve as a point of escalation for complex issues.

Cross-Functional Team Collaboration:
• Collaborate with the cross-functional team to ensure a cohesive approach to customer acquisition and account management.
• Provide information on agreed SLA’s to the Order Processing Manager and Group Operations Manager to ensure adherence to Customers’ processes.

Competencies
• Proven track record in a senior business development role, with a focus on customer expansion and new customer acquisition.
• PC Literate with good experience of MS Office Excel and Word.
• Excellent Communicator.
• Good All-Round Administration Skills.
• Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.

• Flexible approach to work and able to commit to extra time where necessary, including international travel to meetings and trade events.

Sewing Production Operative

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sewing Production Operative to join our production team. This post offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop skills in sewing and textile manufacturing.

Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will learn the intricacies of sewing techniques, equipment operation, and product quality control, all while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the production of high-quality backpacking and expedition tents.
  • Learning and practising sewing techniques, including pattern cutting, stitching, and machine operation.
  • Operating sewing machines and other related equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assisting in the preparation and cutting of fabrics and materials for production.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient workflow.
  • Assisting in the inspection and quality control of finished products to meet Terra Nova Equipment’s standards.
  • Collaborating with the manufacturing team to ensure efficient production processes.
  • Actively participating in training programs and workshops to enhance sewing skills and knowledge.
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations and following established company policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrating a positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow as a sewing professional.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A strong interest in sewing and textile manufacturing.
  • A genuine passion for outdoor activities and an understanding of outdoor equipment.
