FastPack

Ultra-lightweight flexibility. Trim weight. Go further.

Designed by our product specialists to offer ultimate versatility for fast-paced adventures, the FastPack system allows you to dramatically reduce your rucksack’s weight and bulk. By using a dedicated footprint in place of an inner tent, you transform your shelter into a high-performance, minimalist waterproof bivi-style setup.

  • Modular Weight Saving: Leave the inner tent at home when conditions permit to shave significant grams and volume from your pack.
  • Weatherproof Protection: The system utilises a footprint that covers the entire area under the flysheet, including the porch, providing a clean, dry sleeping area.
  • Structural Integrity: The footprint is precision-engineered to provide the essential tension and anchor points required for the poles, ensuring the tent remains stable and secure.

A beginner’s Guide to Family Camping

If you’re interested in camping with the family but don’t know where to start, you’ve come to the right place. Camping is an excellent way to get some fresh air and spend time outdoors with your family. However, camping may seem daunting without the right equipment and guidance. We’re here to assist with your family camping trip, by providing you with an overview of top tips.

Decide on a location

There are numerous destinations and campsites to choose from, which can seem like a minefield. If you decide what you want out of your holiday, it will help you to decide on a location. Decide if you want to be close to a beach or if you’d rather get out into the hills. It’s good to decide how far you want to travel too, this will make your prospective areas smaller. Use a site like Pitchup to filter your requirements and choose a destination/campsite.

It’s important to keep an eye on the campsite’s rules and facilities. For example, if children and dogs are allowed. The campsite should also have good quality facilities, like toilets, showers, and on-site shops, to give you the little luxuries.

As a newcomer to the camping world, it’s a good idea to choose campsites that are close to towns. This allows you to find plenty of places to eat and purchase supplies that may have been forgotten.

Pick your tent

There are plenty of tents to choose from, all of which come in a variety of sizes with different features to accommodate all the family (including the furry variety). The Wild Country Zonda range of tents is perfect for beginner family campers; featuring an innovative design that uses air poles to allow for a hassle-free setup. The Zonda tents provide ample storage and feature a porch to sit in during bad weather.

Once you have chosen your tent, it’s a good idea to familiarise yourself with the setup process to make it easy once you get to your destination. Find detailed set-up tutorials on our YouTube channel to assist you with this process.

Choose your equipment

Now that you have chosen your campsite and tent, it’s important to make sure you have the right equipment. Our extensive list of what to pack will help with this. Check the weather before you start packing to ensure you’re prepared for the right conditions.

Decide on your sleeping bags

Make sure you take a good sleeping bag with you as the temperature can drop at night. Look at the season and temperature rating of the sleeping bag so that it’s suitable for the environment you and your family will be in. Our range of single and double sleeping bags are ideal for family camping.

Plan your meals

Now, it’s time to plan your meals for the family camping holiday. Work out who and how many you are cooking for. It can be beneficial to write a list of what every meal entails and how to cook it. This will help to take the stress out of cooking at your tent. Set aside some time to go shopping one or two days before setting off so that the food is fresh, and make sure everything is packed. Be sure to include fruit and snacks for in-between meals!

Be a smart camper and organise all of your equipment and food before you set off on your adventure and you’re good to go!
