DAC Green Anodized Poles
Eco-conscious engineering from the world leader in tent pole technology.
We exclusively feature DAC Green Anodized poles in our premium tent range to deliver world-class strength and weight savings with a radically reduced environmental footprint.
Material: Exclusive TH72M aluminum alloy, providing the highest strength-to-weight ratio in the industry.
Green Technology: The Anodising process completely eliminates nitric and phosphoric acids, utilizing a closed-loop water recycling system to protect both the environment and the craftspeople who build them.
Ultralight Design: Precision swaged at both ends to shed every unnecessary gram without compromising structural integrity.
The gold standard for performance and a sustainable future.
Ultra-lightweight flexibility. Trim weight. Go further.
Designed by our product specialists to offer ultimate versatility for fast-paced adventures, the FastPack system allows you to dramatically reduce your rucksack’s weight and bulk. By using a dedicated footprint in place of an inner tent, you transform your shelter into a high-performance, minimalist waterproof bivi-style setup.
Modular Weight Saving: Leave the inner tent at home when conditions permit to shave significant grams and volume from your pack.
Weatherproof Protection: The system utilises a footprint that covers the entire area under the flysheet, including the porch, providing a clean, dry sleeping area.
Structural Integrity: The footprint is precision-engineered to provide the essential tension and anchor points required for the poles, ensuring the tent remains stable and secure.
When it comes to gloves here’s some handy advice to help you choose the right layers for every outdoor eventuality and sport.
Choosing gloves for mild weather… Go for liner gloves, which can be thermal or windproof, to keep you warm but are still mobile friendly with their touchscreen compatibility. So, if you’re walking or running outdoors and listening to music the screen is still easily accessible.
Try Extremities close fitting Primaloft Touch Gloves knitted using Primaloft Silver Performance Yarn Merino Wool Blend their ultra-fine fibres make for good thermal protection, they’re quick drying if they get wet and actively wick moisture away from your skin.
Windy Lite Dri Gloves are dextrous, lightweight and close fitting but provide a windproof barrier. With reflective trims and touchscreen finger and thumb they pack down so small and can be easily stashed in a pocket if you warm up.
Both are also perfect base layers beneath gloves and mitts in harsh conditions.
Choosing gloves for a cooler climate…When it’s chilly but not sub-zero temperatures opt for a single layer but something with a nice fleece lining for warmth and comfort.
The Altitude Gloves are perfect for those wanting warm and waterproof gloves that are still sleek enough to stash in a pocket. The lining is a luxurious hi-loft fleece and the extended shaped cuffs make them easier to grab and pull on. These stylish, versatile gloves are smart enough for everyday use yet high performance for outdoor activities.
The Mistaya waterproof gloves offer a great balance of durability, dexterity and warmth. The supple full leather palm and fingers offer good grip and durability and the luxurious hi-loft lining is a real treat for cold hands. Extremities X Dry technology provides waterproof, breathable and windproof protection. A practical glove for everyday use as well as out on the hills.
Choosing gloves for harsh conditions and skiing…When the worst of the weather bites or you’re venturing out onto the ski slopes check out more highly insulated options and consider teaming them with liner gloves for double protection.
The black Antora Peak GTX gloves are high specification waterproof winter gloves. Created using GORE-TEX plus Gore Active Technology for extreme breathability, they are ideally suited for more active winter sports. The supple full leather palms and fingers offer good grip and durability and the brushed lining is inviting for cold hands.
Alternatively, the Cloud Peak Gloves are durable, waterproof, windproof and breathable with GORE-TEX plus Gore Warm Technology. They have a thick layer of insulation and a soft brushed lining which keep hands toasty warm in really cold conditions. The supple leather palms and fingers and extra reinforcement around the thumb crotch area is ideal for trekking or ski poles. There’s a handy goggle / glasses wipe on the back of the thumb too. Ideal gloves for winter walking or skiing.
Explains Extremities spokesperson, Carolyn Budding: “Choosing the right gloves for your favourite sport or activity is crucial to fully enjoying the great outdoors.
“Don’t be afraid to layer gloves as you would clothing to give the ultimate protection and warmth for hands and, of course, give you great options for less severe conditions.”
