Very good quality product. Well made and easy to put up and take down. Only minor niggle is nowhere to hang a lantern or torch. Otherwise would have been 5/5

Bought this tent on a special offer bundle with the groundsheet, wouldn’t have been able to afford it otherwise. It’s fantastic quality and so easy to put up. Spacious inside and not too heavy in my opinion.

Great tent at a bargain price, replacing my Southern Cross 1 with the Pioneer 2 which offers more floor space and head room which is great for when the weather is bad. Only issue is the footprint which I can’t seem to line up correctly but hopefully after a couple of uses it’ll line up and also lack of loops to hang lantern from but apart from that it’s great and would recommend.

Amazing tent at first use. Haven’t had it in any extreme weather yet but I can see it will hold up well. Great manufacture and useful little touches. I can see I’ll have this one for a long time. Also a great price with the discounted footprint bundle!

Great Tent, Very well made, I’ve used the tent in the Snow & on the top of two 900m mountains in Snowdonia, it performed very well, I have the new 2023 version which has a loop for your lantern now, I would highly recommend this tent.

Bought this tent in December 2022. I’ve camped in snow in a blizzard, on the top of mountains in the Lake District, and taken it on the 80 mile Skye Trail in Scotland. It’s been rock solid in heavy wind, rain and snow, and even after a lot of use still looks unused. Plenty of room, and although I used the footprint in the snow, its groundsheet is tough enough. Really good value for money and well recommended.

I got the tent & footprint bundle in June 23 and love the internal height! I wore a Panama hat testing in the garden and didn’t touch the ceiling and I’m 185cm tall. The internal width and length are a snug fit for my wide Klymit insulated Static V Luxe mat at 193x76cm with a triangle to the side for kit. Porch is roomy enough for dry bags. Access doors really high. Lots of mesh so ventilation should be good. I was gentle with tent as material, poles and pegs are all lightweight to what I’m used to. Perfect size for solo camping. 600g lighter, and smaller than my old Eurohike Backpacker tent. Today we had a big thunderstorm with heavy rain and the tent was completely dry inside. I will take 4 storm pegs for guying as the 12 pegs supplied mean having to use same pegs for footprint, inner and outer, whereas I found everything would be more taut if footprint was not sharing pegs with tent. Very happy with purchase.

    Best tent I’ve ever owned.

excellent piece of kit, i love mine, been up in the mountains of snowdonia many times with this tent, cant rate it much higher but could of with a toggle to hange my lantern on inside and for a slightly larger gap between the inner and the fly on door 2 where their is no vestibule, with the footprint filling the larger vestibule area makes for more space in wet weather, ill never part with my pioneer 2. i will be putting a full review on the P2 on our youtube channel.

Used it for a 3 month tour of Spain in 2021. Temps ranged from -5 to 40 degrees centigrade. It held up during the cold and the heat but then when I went to wipe some sand out of the inner the seam seal tape split about 40cm on both door entry areas without me even being in the tent.

I’m 6ft 2inches and it fits me fine, it’s a fantastic solo tent with great vestibules and double door entry but I bit the bullet and bought a more expensive brand tent.

The way more expensive tent has shown me that taping all away around the bathtub that ends up under tension is a bad design. If they redesign the bathtub then this would be a fantastic tent for a solo bicycle tourer.

I terra novas defence they did send me a brand new inner to replace the failed one. This tent was also used with the footprint.

I bought this tent to replace my Hilleberg Akto ,needing more interior space and headroom and a tent that was freestanding.
The Pioneer 2 is a palace for 1,light and compact enough to fit in my backpack and offers the 3/4 season weather protection that i need camping in the mountains of NW Scotland in what passes for late spring and early summer up there.
Well done TN this is a brilliant piece of kit.

Has this tent since mid 2023 having used it in both late summer and winter wild camping on the south downs in various conditions.

Internally it’s great size wise and well balanced for room when erected Vs packed down and stowed away.

I have used it in windy conditions (nothing ridiculous, but more than I would normally take out some of my three season tents in) and it holds up well with a bit of bowing inwards atbthe head or foot end depending on how its pitched into the wind.

With all the guys and peg out points in place it stands up well to a bit of a battering, while the solid inner keeps the warmth in as much as it can for colder climes.

Easy to setup after a few tries, I recommend packing it away making sure the under side tension straps are correctly sitting under the ground sheet or you will end up wrestling with them if they are over the fly sheet but it’s not a problem after you see how they should be when it’s pitched.

The ground sheet is great, giving a ground covered vestibule for shoes and cooking off the grass as well as protection from rough terrain.

The poles are usual terranova quality, and it has twin eyelets so you can double pole if you think you need to.

Packs down to a reasonable size which I can fit into a 48lt osprey pack along with winter sleeping bag, some warm clothes and plenty of other kit for those colder nights higher up.

Great value for a midrange 3.5 season tent which I would be comfortable taking up into higher areas in the north of the country where winds are more of a issue.

Pegs and guys are quality as is the general manufacturing standard. If you are looking for a tent that’s hard wearing, well made and able to bridge the autumn to winter season in non extreme conditions then at it’s current sale price I can’t recommend it enough.

It’s better than good but not perfect. No tent is.
I got this in January and about to go on my 9th wildcamp tomorrow. Before this, I was using a Cloud Peak 2, which is excellent, but just too big for one person wild camping. I wanted something smaller. This is the perfect size 1 person tent in my opinion. I’d never try to get two people in this tent, it’s too small, but that’s why I chose it. For one person, it has enough space to have my kit inside, good headroom and I have a torso that is as long as people 6’6 tall and it’s a good length for my long sleeping mat. As I can get my kit inside the tent, the vestibule is a good size for cooking. It’s interesting having only one vestibule. The easy access into the tent is a big plus, when the wind changes direction, it can be a minus as you are stuck with one porch. The biggest negative though is that water drips in through an open door. This is something I’m happy to deal with for the smaller footprint.
The winds so far have only been around 25mph so far and it is fine. It moves more than the CP but still fine.
It has a few panels of mesh but the tent is still warm. There’s quite a bit of condensation on the inside of the fly but the inner has kept it out.
I like the clip for the doors and the pocket for the porch inner door, shame it’s not on the other door too. The pockets at the head end are at a an angle that causes it’s contents to fall out, probably the worst part.
It has a lantern loop at the top, it’s ashame there isn’t a hook. On the plus, I have a small hook that I can fasten to my lantern and I can also hook it on the outside of the porch inner door when cooking.
It’s brilliant that the footprint is included but a shame it can’t be attached to the tent. I sorted this by very thin zip ties.
At the sale price, it’s very good quality at a very good price. Would I buy it again? Yes, definitely, it’s ideal for my use.

Defiantly a 4 season tent. Sturdy and great looking. Spacious enough for a 6ft person.
