Terra Nova is thrilled to have received two recommended awards from TGO magazine for the Laser range.

The Laser Compact 1 and Laser Compact AS have both been awarded a recommended badge by TGO Magazine, with a total of 4 out of 5 stars. Chris Townsend reviewed 17 one-person backpacking tents and gave both tents the seal of approval.

The Laser Compact AS is the updated version of the Laser Compact All Season but with more headroom and living space, making it a perfect, lightweight, all-season backpacking tent. Praising the materials and space, he concluded that, “unlike most of the tents reviewed the new Terra Nova Laser Compact AS is designed for year-round use – the AS stands for All Season. That means it’s built with heavy-duty materials including a groundsheet with a very high hydrostatic head and is designed to repel wind and snow. Meanwhile, the Laser Compact 1 has been a best-selling tent since its release, winning multiple awards over the years, so it’s no surprise that it’s been recommended as a one-person backpacking tent. Rating it 4 stars out of 5, he concluded: “Terra Nova’s Laser series of one-person tents are well-established. I’ve reviewed several over the years and have always had a love-hate relationship with them due to one design feature, the separate sleeve protecting the flysheet door zip, which I always found fiddly. Thankfully Terra Nova has finally dispensed with this and replaced it with a factory-sealed main seam. Recent ultralight Terra Nova tents have also come with fairly useless thin needle pegs. The Terra Nova Laser Competition 1 tent was recently reviewed in the May/June 2012 edition of Adventure Travel Magazine.

The review looked at 10 of the latest one man tents on the market scoring them on weight, pack size, space, ease of pitching and value for money. The Terra Nova Laser Competition 1 tent not only received an overall score of 9/10, the reviewer also gave the tent the much coveted ‘Best In Test’ stamp of approval!

The review concluded,

“..this is an impressively light tent that will stand up to all but the most serious conditions..”
