Early tent models were designed for mountaineering – able to withstand harsh weather conditions and the sturdiest tents of their kind. Bathtub groundsheets and factory sealed seams were standard features making them ideal for damp or wet climates. The tents were more comfortable, reliable and easier to pitch than those available at the time.
