FastPack

Ultra-lightweight flexibility. Trim weight. Go further.

Designed by our product specialists to offer ultimate versatility for fast-paced adventures, the FastPack system allows you to dramatically reduce your rucksack’s weight and bulk. By using a dedicated footprint in place of an inner tent, you transform your shelter into a high-performance, minimalist waterproof bivi-style setup.

  • Modular Weight Saving: Leave the inner tent at home when conditions permit to shave significant grams and volume from your pack.
  • Weatherproof Protection: The system utilises a footprint that covers the entire area under the flysheet, including the porch, providing a clean, dry sleeping area.
  • Structural Integrity: The footprint is precision-engineered to provide the essential tension and anchor points required for the poles, ensuring the tent remains stable and secure.

Festivals are more fun with great camping gear

Music festival season is almost upon us – from Glastonbury to Reading, thousands of music lovers are making tents their summer base.  Here, festival-goer and camping fan Kathryn Moorcroft (21) explains why quality camping gear is a must to make festivals more appealing and comfortable.

“It was that time of year again, my friend and I were heading off to a small music festival in the heart of the Peak District.

After years of buying a cheap tent to take with us which we just threw away after, we decided to test the Wild Country Hoolie 2 ETC – although a little more expensive, we decided the investment would pay off as we had more festivals planned that year.

As we arrived late, many festival-goers had already chosen their plot and pitched their tent but eventually we found a long narrow space next to the main path.

We were in a rush to head to the action so we were pleased that the tent was so easy to erect, even for novice campers like ourselves – the colour-coded poles really helped us out and the tent was pitched in ten minutes.

The sleeping bags were set up in the main section of the tent and we stored all of our bags in the porch – but what set the Hoolie 2 ETC tent apart from the others was the side door.

With the space we were given to camp the conventional design of a door at the end of the tent would have been a nightmare, but at the side we had easy access to the main path – definitely an added bonus when trying to find the tent at the end of the night.

As both my friend and I are over five foot seven we have been cramped in tents before, but the Hoolie 2 ETC offered a very spacious sleeping area with the added bonus of side pockets which we found handy for our torches and phones.

Inevitably the rain came in force on the second night, but as we were promised, we remained warm and dry – something we’d not been used to with our cheaper alternatives in other years.

Due to the fact that the Hoolie 2 ETC performed so well at this festival and that it’s so lightweight to carry on that long stretch from the car park to the camping area, I would, without hesitation, take it again!”

Top tips for Festival camping:

  1. Choose a tent with a porch/living space for great gear storage and extra comfort
  2. Practise pitching your tent at home before you get to the festival – it’ll mean you do the job without any fuss when you arrive and can get to the stage quicker.
  3. If floorspace is really limited check out freestanding tents that don’t even need pegs and guyropes to pitch them, like the award-winning Terra Nova Southern Cross series.
