In 1960-61 a team led by Eric Shipton was the first to cross the Patagonian ice cap from North to South, a 48 day, 210km feat of endurance that has never been repeated along the same route.
This December a new team that includes Eric’s son, John as well as the first woman to attempt the crossing, will head to Patagonia with the aim of retracing this epic journey using Terra Nova tents as their primary shelter. The reasons for choosing Terra Nova were obvious to the trip organiser,
