The Lumen is an ultra-lightweight camping chair that weighs in at an impressive 648g / 1.42lbs pack weight. We’ve engineered the Lumen to not only be lightweight, but also extremely durable by using our nylon / UHMWPE (Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethene) composite ripstop fabric and 7001 aluminium alloy poles with shock cords.

Description

When out on a multi-day trek, there’s nothing better than giving your legs a rest. That’s why we’ve designed our ultralight backpacking chair: The Lumen. Weighing in at a mere 648g trail weight (excluding the bag weight), you’ll have a comfortable seat when you need it and not even notice it in your pack when you’re trekking.

The nylon fabric with UHMWPE ripstops provides a comfortable seat whilst being extremely durable so it can withstand anything that could happen on the trail. We’ve also utilised shock-corded poles for a quick, intuitive setup – even in high winds.

Super strong
I’ve had a few hiking chairs from other manufacturers that haven’t really impressed me—either they weren’t comfortable or they lacked stability. So I thought I’d give the Terra Nova Lumen a go.

I’m really impressed. It’s lightweight, strong and comfortable, and it easily handles my 90 kg weight. It doesn’t flex or sag when I’m seated, and it feels solid and stable.

After trying several others, I think the Terra Nova Lumen is the best hiking chair out there.
